FIN OUTDOOR

( FORMERLY THE OUTDOOR FILM EXPERIENCE )

PRESENTS

The 19th annual FIN Outdoor summer movie series is excited to be presenting four iconic Jim Henson Studios films at the historic Halifax PublicGardens; June 29, July 6, July 13 and July 20. Although a theme as beloved amongst both children and adults as “Summer of Henson” needs no other justification, it is 60 years ago this year that Jim and Jane Henson founded Muppets, Inc.

In addition to the screenings at the Halifax Public Gardens, FIN Outdoor is thrilled to be taking outdoor summer movies on the road for the first time in its history, beginning with Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. For one late summer weekend, FIN Outdoor will put up its 30-foot inflatable screen showing movies on both Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11. The program will feature Atlantic Canadian award-winner and local favourite, MAUDIE, followed by a taste of the “Summer of Henson” with the original, THE MUPPET MOVIE.

We are happy to welcome Feed Nova Scotia back to the Halifax Public Gardens for FIN Outdoor, they will be accepting donations prior to the screening.

2017 OUTDOOR FILM EXPERIENCE

The 18th annual Outdoor Film Experience was thrilled to present at the beautiful historic Public Gardens this past summer in 2017. Along with our nation’s sesquicentennial anniversary, it was also the 150th birthday of the Public Gardens, and what better way to celebrate than with Canadian Comedy, Eh? We also had a Tall Ships-themed screening on the Halifax Waterfront’s Tall Ships Quay, and two screenings at the Pondside Amphitheatre at Dartmouth Crossing. We would like to thank our partners: Halifax Seaport, Waterfront Developments, The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing, Virgin Radio, Spring Garden Area Business Association and Feed Nova Scotia.
